~*~ Girls Night In ~*~

~*~ ~*~

Last Night we had a Middle School Girls Night In! And it was fabulous! 24 Middle school girls came out for a night of Music, A Movie ( A Walk to Remember), Munchies, and GAMES! We started out with the munchies and games... after a few rounds of Sardines it was time to gather together and watch our movie for the night: A WALK TO REMEMBER. Not only do I Love this movie it has a great message about Love, Forgiveness, and Change. I will post more on this later! After the movie, I wiped the tears (If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it!) and we discussed the the movie. About 45 minutes later we played our first and last game of murder! and then went back to sardines! I am so tired today but it's worth it to see the girls put it together, to see how God works, and can work in their lives. The movie Discussion was my favorite part of the night we talked about the list Jamie makes with all the things she wants to do before she dies... and to hear the girls ideas of what they would put on their list was interesting but it made me think, and I hope it got them thinking to, about what I want to accomplish before my time here is up! Am I open to hearing God's plan and not just my own? I hope so. Are my ideas for what I want to do balanced with what God has planned? I guess time will tell!

Have a Beautiful Day!

Summer's here!

Ok so It has been a few weeks since I posted anything and well there is no excuse. So I'll give you a quick update. Schools out! YEAH! We left the day after and made a trip to Ohio to see family and friends and it was wonderful, but so very busy! When we arrived later Thursday Earl went and talked with my Great Aunt and Cousisns about my Great uncles funeral, that he (Earl) would be performing the next day. Friday comes and Earl did great, can I say that? I know it sounds weird but he did! Friday Night we went out to Riverside Park to celebrate with the Baxter-Settelmire Family Elisha turning 6! Saturday was busy- shopping at Old Navy, Lunch with the Family (MY Brother and his family were there too!)Then to a Surprise Birhday for my (Ohio-Redheaded Daughter) Sophie's Sweet Sixteen! That was so fun surprising her at her surprise party! Then we snuck off and went to Deitches for Ice Cream! YUMMY Sunday we went to our old church, then to my parents for their annual Race Day BBQ! Lots of family at that so that was nice to catch up and see everyone. Monday morning I got to spend time with my good friend Barb drinking some Wonderful Chai Tea and eating Molasses cookies! Then we bid my brother and his family a farwell, they had to get back to Tenesse. We came home Thursday! YEah!

Rebecca, Michael, and I have been super busy preparing for the Musical Missions Trip that leaves in a week! Plus I have been trying to get the house in order from being on vacation, no wonder I am tired!

Earl is getting the Summer schedule ready to begin, next week is Drama Camp. And Earl's Dad arrives for a two week visit!

I got the cast off my hand and am so glad for that! It's a little sore at the end of the day but I am glad to not to have to wear it on the Trip.

Middle School Girls Events are Scheduled for July, and Tonight is our Girls Night In! With that said I better get off here and get things around for that! Have a Beautiful Day! I hope to post something before we leave for the trip. Begin Praying about that for all those going and for the places we will be that the people we will meet will see God's Love in and through us!

Have a Beauitful Day!

Needing a good laugh? Read this!

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he
knew. She did this for the whole week.

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?'

'Do you know her?'

Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'

The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'

'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'

Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us?

'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'
