Happy New Year

Do you make New Years Resolutions? I do every year, (even years I say I won't)and usually break them by the first week in Februaury. SO this year I am putting them out hear for everyone to see, and hopefully to make me keep them longer!

My first one is a two part resolution:#1 To be in the Word (BIBLE) everyday! To read through the bible in this next year. I am using the Change your Life Bible (It's from a Women's Bible Study I did several years ago) I will read from Pslams, Proverbs, The Old & New Testaments each day... I may even be blogging about what I am reading and learning. Want to follow along? I will post weekly what I am reading each day that week. Luke 6:45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

#2 Be a better Wife and Mother (putting the needs of my family above other things)
Ephesians 5:22-2422Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

#3 Laugh more and Worry Less
Proverbs 15:30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18F or our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

#4 Treat myself with Respect (My mind...(especially my words)& My Body) Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do

Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So What are you Resolutions for this year? It's my Prayer that youl will have a safe, Happy, Healty New Year!

Love Ya

Christmas Lights

So tonight we loaded up the van with the kids, the Hubby and Me and went on a search for Christmas Lights in and around town.

We found several houses that very nicely decorated, and even went through our town park that has lights all over it.

We found not one but two houses that had lights and music that went together, it was pretty neat. (Sing Chipmunks Christmas During this Part)

We then went uptown to see the town Christmas Tree and took a few photo's there as well. Then we headed home to enjoy a quite evening watching Christmas movies.

Have a Beautiful Day!

Making Buckeye's

I have been a little homesick this last week and today had the urge to bake, and thought I'd make some Buckeye's for friends to enjoy, so I set out this afternoon to make (ok it's not really baking) some of these yummy treats! Here are the directions step by step incase you have the urge to make some as well!

Gather the ingredients: Recipe for Buckeye's:
1/2 stick butter (room temp)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C. creamy Peanut Butter
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
2-2 1/2 C Powdered Sugar (add a little at a time)
1 C. Chocoalte Chips

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl adding small amounts of Powdered Sugar at a time (you don't want it to be dry and crumbly) I usually end up mixing until I can't anymore and them use my hands to knead it to dough like consitancy
Refridgerate for about 20 minutes or over night. Using a small scoop (Pampered Chef) or 2 spoons to make even sized scoops then roll into small balls 1 recipe makes about 35 balls. Place in fridge for abut 20 minutes or overnight. Melt 1 C chocolate chips and dip the balls in the chocolate coating all but the top of the peanut butter ball. (See Picture below) then refridgerate again until ready to serve can be frozen. Eat and Enjoy!

Mix all the ingredients together:

Form the Dough into small balls:

Place the balls on a wax paper covered cookie sheet to set in the fridge:

Dip the set balls into melted chocolate:

Set chocolate peanutbutter balls back onto wax lined cookie sheet to set in fridge for 20 minutes, can be froxen.

Then share with a friend!
Hope you will enjoy them as much as we do!
Have a Beautiful Day!

I Triple Dog Dare You! (Please do not do this!)

Ok so we have all seen The Christmas Story movie you know the one: "you'll shoot your eye out" At our house it's hubby's favorite Christmas movie so we end up watching it a lot around Christmas time. All of my kids have seen it, many times so on Monday night when KJ ran out ahead of me after Basketball practice I never imagined what I would see when I came out of the school. Yep she did it, she somehow stuck her tongue to the flag pole(the how isn't hard to figure out but the why is, or seems to be!) Let's just say that my first instinct was to take a video/photo using my phone because I knew this would be blog worthy happening. I didn't (now I am kicking myself), instead I worked quickly to get her tongue unstuck from the flag pole (yes she really did it!) The other coach for her team ran inside to try to find a cup to fill with warm water to unstick the tongue. I was outside working her tongue (it's gross so I won't go into details, let's just say a Mom's gotta do what she's gotta do to help her babies out!) off the pole and KJ proceeds to yell at me with her tongue still attached, I told her now was not the time to yell at me, and to calm herself down. She was embarrassed (ya I know posting this won't help that) , hurting and scared, so I let her go with just the warning. The other coach comes out with a wet paper towel and I am able to work the rest of KJ's tongue off the pole. Let's just say that the tongue can bleed! Using the paper towel to keep pressure on the tongue we head home. Now I have to tell you it is very difficult to not laugh when you find your child stuck to a flag pole. I held off until we got home and I knew she was OK! Today KJ can laugh at it, not quite as much as we can, but some day she will. SO parents please warn your children, that some things they see in the movies are real! (like sticking the warm wet tongue to a freezing cold metal flag pole!)

Hope you have enjoyed this as much as we have! I will have you know that KJ is fine, her tongue is a little sore but it stopped bleeding shortly after we got home and she is able to talk normal now.

Have a Beautiful Day!

The Below Picture is not for the faint of heart. Remember I told you that poor little KJ's tongue bleed a lot! Well it seems there was a little proof of monday's fiasco. Remember I also said that my first instinct was to take a picture and I didn't but today I had the chance to. That's what the picture is of. Now it sorta grosses me out that they haven't cleaned this off the flag pole at the school and if your wondering yes they did know about it we had a chat with the school nurse Tuesday morning when we took KJ to school.

Story coming soon!
